As state after state began to temporarily close health clubs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one-time competitors in the fitness industry did something new—they began to turn to each other to share ideas and talk about possible solutions. This led several club operators to develop alliances on a state-by-state basis. Those alliances took action, and several impacted local politicians to help reopen clubs in their states.
